Fri - Daytona Bch
Dunlawton Sugar Mill Garden. This place has tropical rainforest type vegetation and was super cool - until we got further in and the mosquitos attacked!
Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory tour - with free samples. Gavin was super excited about the chocolate covered bacon:
Hankster's Hot Rods, located in an old roller skating rink. Super cool:
Amelia bought this Ariel doll with money from Mee Maw and took it everywhere with her:
Marine Science Center:
Back to the beach:
There was a sand bar about 20 ft out which made swimming safe and wave free for the kiddos:
Enjoyed watching storms roll in daily from the balcony:
It was truck week in Dayton Bch - lots and lots of big trucks everywhere!
Thurs, May 31 - Daytona Beach
We finished out May with a 3 night trip to Daytona Beach. We had driven through Daytona Bch before but never stayed there. We were impressed - the water was clear and warm and there was a lot to see and do. We plan to visit again. I've never seen so many hole-in-the-wall pizza places in one town, which we took advantage of daily. We stayed right on the beach for free via our Hyatt credit card rewards which made for a cheap trip.
The kids didn't mind the rain at all:
