We have a new cousin! My cousin Joe and his wife Cat welcomed Luke Alexander on May 6. Luke was born at 30 weeks, and weighed only 2.5 lbs. He and his mom are doing well, although Luke will have to stay in the hospital awhile to grow. Welcome to the world Luke!

Springtime
Gavin made a car out of a box:
I love homeschooling:
Made homemade moon dough with Brayden - it was awesome!
(1 bag of flour + 1 bottle baby oil)
Jake made Gavin a sprinkler to play in one Friday while I was at work:
Ice experiment:
Our pool is now open, though the water hasn't warmed up enough to swim. The cover leaked over the winter and it was a swampy mess. After a lot of chlorination and filtering the water is finally clearing up. Friday Jake was brave enough to get in the cold water and vacuum:
Gavin jumped in:
Jake planted 4 more murray cypress this spring along our side fence:
We have peaches for the first time:
Last Friday while I was at worked Jake cut Gavin's hair while he played Minecraft:
Mother's Day 2013 - I got the exact present that I wanted - to sleep in!

Balloons
Saturday evening we went to the Perry Dogwood Festival Hot Air Balloon Rally. Unfortunately Jake had to work (protecting our country and all), but we were joined by our friends Angela, Dale, and Brayden. A little while later we were joined by some more friends - Aleita, Eric, Carleigh, and Aleita's sister's Marissa and Christina. It was a great evening, and very interesting as I had never been up close to hot air balloons before.
Gavin and Brayden in awe:
watching balloons being set up:
Carleigh's aunts helped a guy set up his balloon:
