June 2021

The kids got season tickets to Rigby's waterpark for their birthdays this year. Amelia loves it and happily rides all the slides. So does Jake.
I prefer the lazy river. So does Gavin, along with dumping water on unsuspecting people:
 Ready for the 4th!
Jake got bonsai tree Legos for Father's Day:
And I made him a peanut buster parfait ice cream cake:
 Fun with apps:

Amelia Island Day 1-2

When school got out we headed on a 3 night trip to Amelia Island, Florida. We stayed in a townhome just off the beach and enjoyed the peaceful area. On the way there we stopped by the Okefenokee Swamp in south Georgia. We took a scenic drive around and stopped for a couple quick hikes. Amelia and I ended up waiting in the car during one hike because even with bug spray Amelia was getting attacked. I was psyched that there is a Whataburger in Yulee, Florida on the way to Amelia Island. We hit that up on the way into town and the way out. I had forgotten how good diet coke is made with Florida tap water - so good! My favorite part of the trip was the scenic boat ride along Cumberland Island, GA. So cool to see all the trees/plants and wild horses. The beach there had tons of shells and the kids loved it.

Amelia was pretty bored on the boat ride until she heard the captain say that the namesake of Amelia Island was Princess Amelia from Spain. That perked her up and she spent the next month telling everyone she was named after a princess.
